Bring Out the Beast
The image tonight is for the Chaos Bros.
A friend said something to me yesterday that reminded me of the advice I told someone not long after they started - Blip doesn't demand anything of you, it is you that puts the pressure on yourself. My friend also pointed out that Blip will always be here should I decide to take a short break.
A chance call with the Neurosurgeon also helped cement my decision to continue following the standard Doctors/ Consultant opening question "How you feeling?". Rather than the standard I'm okay line I was actually able to tell him, I bet he wished he hadn't asked. I also mustn't forget one of the main reasons for starting Blip; leaving something behind for my gorgeous daughter to look over in later life. Do I want her to think I could only manage a year in this great community?
As well as the consecutive Blips challenge I think I need to think of themes (weekly/ monthly) or other challenges - any ideas?
The picture is off one of the tractors that came into the village today to dig everyone out. The wheel diameter is around 6 feet to give you an idea of the size of the beast. This guy and around 6 others were in the village clearing all the ice and snowdrifts from the pavements and roads. It was great to see and something the village really needed as some of the elderly people have been housebound since the snow came down over a fortnight ago. If it wasn't for the almighty bang I heard outside I'd be none the wiser they were in the village. I heard the bang and looked out to see the bucket of this beast level with my car and the driver shaking his head. Instantly I thought he's skelpt the car but as it turns out he'd simply removed one of the massive kerb stones from the edge of the green. Unfortunately, for the ladies they weren't the Army as promised and if the truth be told some of them looked like they were on Community Service.
Not wanting to take anything away from their effort and hard work by why do it now? We are apparently about to get dumped on again on Thursday.
Bob is also starting to up the ante with regards to her delay questioning. These are questions she chooses to ask just before going to bed or when she's sent upstairs to get dressed for school. This morning's questions were stotters:
Bob: How do we know if Jesus was real?
FW: There is evidence to suggest he was a real man
Bob: So God chose him?
FW: Yes
Bob: So who's God and if no-one's seen him why do people believe in him?
FW: Go and brush your teeth and get dressed
FW & I have our own beliefs and we intentionally try to hold back on our views from Bob to a certain extent. We figure that if religion is something that means something to Bob she'll find it when she grows up rather than us choose it for her.
