Amsterdam Day 4

Backblip 13th May.

Following on from yesterday's failed attempt to retrieve my brother's present from my car, with the lifting of the barricades I thought I'd head down to The Olympic Stadium earlyish and get it out the way. That would leave the rest of the day clear for other things and hopefully meeting up with him later before he went home. I got there and the whole thing was surrounded by more barriers and thousands of people in hideous cycle-wear all getting excited about whatever was going on. I headed back home, defeated again.

On the plus side, I think this was our first rain-free day and we made use of our roof terrace that evening. We had a glass of wine, or started one before the cold forced us indoors again. This picture is from there, looking over the canal again, it's a floor up from the picure the other day and you can see the old Heineken brewery (now just an experience in the top right.

We also decided to stay in Amsterdam for our last two days.
