Girl wearing red and black in a Richmond landscape
Christina had to go back to Wellington today so I drove her up to Picton to catch the 1.45pm ferry. I thought that I'd get a good blip either there or on the way back but the weather over the Blenheim/Picton side of the hills was rainy (such a shame as there were so many paddocks full of wee lambs - far more than two and a half weeks ago when I picked her up). It had been nice and sunny all day in Nelson. By the time I was back in the sunny zone though, it was on the road between Rai Valley and Nelson, full of twists and turns on the hills, and as I was on a deadline to get back for a chiropractor's appointment I couldn't afford to stop and let the trucks that I'd overtaken go past me again as passing lanes are few and far between!
Instead, I decided to revisit the spot outside Richmond that I blipped for Mono Monday 'Trees', back in July. I had Immy with me and she wanted to be in the shot too, so she hopped out and ambled about at the edge of the springtime field. I hope I've chosen a shot that meets with her approval!
Just had a message from Christina to say she's safely back home now at her pad in Wellington; she managed to get all the annotations done on her script on the crossing and Molly was very good on the bus from the ferry back to Miramar - no maiowing, weeing or worse! It will be very quiet without them. An early night for me, I think - I'm knackered.
