VIP from Patna!

We were the guests this evening for a meal in Edinburgh with Alex and Isabell Neil. Alex is the Cabinet Secretary for Health in the Scottish Government, and a more concerned, intelligent and down to earth person you could not meet.

It was a great evening. We had lots of chat, reminiscences and discussions about the forthcoming referendum. If anything, Isabell is more passionate than Alex, but it is a close run thing.

Alex, Barbara, Isabell and myself are all from Ayrshire: God's own country. Alex is from Patna, and I am from the much more sophisticated Maybole. We have been friends for over 30 years. Isn't it great to have long lasting, genuine, friends?
