Lavender fields

I have been watching the lavender burst into colour from the train to London and today went to the fields to take them all in on foot. The scent is magnificent as is the contrast of colours from the swathes of lavender blue to the Darenth valley beyond. I heard a woodpecker tapping and a gentle breeze took the edge off the midday sun. A summer's scene of senses!
