South over Thimphu

I've been working in my room at the hotel today, catching breath after the great activity of the last few days.

It's cloudy and humid but I took time off to walk up the street to see what I could see. This is the view across the western suburbs of the city with the centre of the town to the left in the bottom of the valley and the mountains rising up to the south.

If you look carefully you can see the golden top of the National Monument right in the centre of the picture.
