Alfa Male!

I was out instructing this morning in Stratford-upon-Avon. My pupil has had less than ten hours tuition so far and today was her first attempt at bay parking.

Surveys have suggested that 40% of male and 60% of female drivers admit to being unable to bay park properly; reversing in. These are experienced drivers too. My learner with her serious lack of experience managed to get into the bay 75% of the time.

Best part about today though? Whilst reversing before turning towards the bay, two cars approached from ahead. The first waited patiently until a gap opened up, then nose parked in another bay. Fine; I have no issue with that. Why would I?

The second however, approached us less patiently. Head shanking, looks of disgust and hand gestures. He then cut across a double row of bays to park like this...wow! He then walked by in a major hurry (because getting into Costa for your morning coffee and read of the paper is an urgency, clearly) shaking his head and glaring at us.

How can anyone look down their nose at a learner doing something right whilst they themselves are incapable of doing the same thing with any degree of competence or pride?! That sums up how a lot of experienced drivers behave towards learners these days...

Anyway, in other news. My Bobba has got a new toy' can you guess what it is? Shame she isn't here to play with it; more of a shame I'm too nice to open it for her...I wouldn't want to deprive her the joy of tearing open the packaging!

Happy Days!!!
