Double act
The Shmoo's mum was working today so we were a double act back on our dad and daughter day
Painting and playing in the morning.
Animals, including this double act, at midday. No red pyjamas on this llama !
We concluded the day with making some ginger biscuits and the Shmoo went to her first ballet lesson. We had to be on hand as she did get a little upset at the new surroundings and people but considering it was the first time and being one of the youngest she was very brave.
She has been very clingy today, not a wholly bad thing but I am finding this a difficult part of parenting. Allowing her to grow strong and independent whilst providing support at the right distance. It is a barometer that is difficult to read.
“Walk a little slower, Daddy”,
Said a little child so small.
“I’m following in your footsteps,
And I don’t want to fall.
Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they’re hard to see;
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For you are leading me.
Someday when I’m all grown up,
You’re what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
Who’ll want to follow me.
And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true;
So, walk a little slower, Daddy,
For I must follow you.”
