Childhood memories

gravyc's comment on yesterday's blip triggered something, and I dug out this long forgotten book The Children's Treasury of Literature.
It was a Christmas present from my mother many many years ago, and was much read by me.
It contains Grimm fairy takes, Aesop's fables, short stories and lots of extracts from well known books. Rikki Tikki Tavi is just one of the delights.
