Lost in Action

Cannot express the rollercoaster I’ve been on over the last 48 hours. Snips called me last night around 1am for a chat, she was struggling to sleep and although she never said on the phone I knew she was scared. Following that call I had an immediate flashback to how she looked when possible diagnosis were given, it’s a face I had seen since we were kids. The one that every kid has went they want to cry but can’t, the pain in that much.

The 1am call was followed up by a call around 6am, she still couldn’t sleep but nice to hear her voice. I also promised her as soon as I’d moved the mountain from the spare room into storage I’d be back in.

Thankfully Massive & Colin (from next door) were on hand to help me, honestly couldn’t believe it. Both guys up and out early, giving up their Saturday morning followed by a visit to the coup. It was nearly 1pm before we all finished and to their credits the guys never relented. Buttons & Chunks appeared just as we were loading the final load. Unfortunately, Buttons didn’t escape for long as he was drafted in to help recover FW car for a second time in as many weeks.

A quick shower and it was back through to see Snips and couldn’t believe it when she said she was discharged. Although great news have to keep an eye on a few things, the bubbly wee one was back.

Although a grown woman and fantastic mum, I will always see her as my wee sister, next to the Bob she is the only one who can be a pain and get away with it. We’ve been through a lot together and will continue to do so. I’m really proud of the lady she has become, mum she always has been and love her two boys like my own. Both are an absolute credit to her.

Arrived home tonight to find a now empty room with these two ships fighting for the space. It was guaranteed to happen, trying to ensure these didn’t meet Davy Jones Locker on their trip to the storage unit I put them out of the way and completely forgot about them
