Brussel sprout risotto
I'm not one for New Year resolutions but this year I decided that (1) we would try and cook things we hadn't cooked before rather than the same old standards and (b) I would have fewer food blips as they are my lazy 'emergency' blips.
Well, we have kept up the first but not really the second - too many dull and wet days. I hadn't intended to do a food blip today but our meal was quite unusual - Brussel sprout risotto, from a recipe we saw in the paper last weekend.
It sounds a bit odd but it tasted much better than you would imagine. I'm not sure it'll become a standard but definitely worth the experiment.
