Italian sausages with lentils and apple

We like sausages and lentils as well as pork with apples.

Tonight I tried an experiment of putting them together - mixing apples with the lentils. This was approached with great scepticism by my wife but it worked really well. The slight acidity of the apples really complemented the earthiness of the lentils.
