Nerines

I blipped these on 20 October just after they first appeared. Now they are quite spectacular (and, indeed, quite common round here). I was particularly taken by the translucence of the petals which is particularly noticeable in the picture.

I have also found that they are nerines [Nerine bowdenii] but I do wonder whether their proliferation in this particular place is due to their proximity to our septic tank!
