Fireworks!

It's Guy Fawkes Night again - the boys are back at school now and came home very excited about seeing some fireworks. There are lots of good displays around now at the weekends, but we've always held the tradition of a few fireworks in the back garden, mugs of hot soup and hot dogs, then sparklers for the children. Our smaller creatures, Dash and Daisy, stayed safely inside as they don't like the noise. This year I combined photography with being firework dad - with camera set on tripod, cable release ready, I would light the blue touch-paper, retire rapidly to a safe distance and trip the shutter. This shot caught my eye with the spark trails of the firework framed by the surrounding branches.
