In its 150th year the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway is still going strong. The Ffestiniog Railway makes a 13½-mile journey from Porthmadog to the slate-quarrying town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The Welsh Highland Railway make a spectacular 25 mile scenic journey through Snowdonia from Caernarfon to Porthmadog.
