Solid Foundation
I’ve said a few times that I absolutely adore kids and find their presence relaxing or at least the majority of them anyway. Watching how they view the world or interpret things and play it back to you always amazes me. It would also be fair to say that I’ve developed close bonds with a lot of my mates kids over the years.
One of my closest and dear friends sent me a text a few days ago advising his youngest had been admitted to hospital and then had to be rushed to Sick Kids. Since receiving that text I’ve thought of little else and constantly found myself smiling at the image I have of her big brown eyes and winning smile. I was relieved to receive a text late last night to advise she was getting home and after work took a detour so I could see them all, obviously armed with a few DVD’s to reward her bravery.
I’m pleased to say the big eyes and smile was there to greet me, I also got a massive thank you and a big hug when I passed over the films. You could tell she wasn’t a 100% yet and still had a bit to go to recover but it was a relief to see her running about, her big brother appears to have adopted a guardian position. On the other hand my friend and his wife looked exhausted and you could tell that the last few days have really taken their toll.
Planned to head out tonight just so my mate could escape for a few hours and couldn’t believe it when the heavens opened as we set up. Only one thing for it head into the nearest pub for a drink and catch up.
