Our Playground
Early start for a trip further North to meet up with Pyro, Scrot & the dogs (Badger and Saphy). We were only 30 minutes late which wasn’t bad considering our two teenagers we’re struggling to get motivated this morning, apparently they were both in a deep and great sleep.
Instead of heading straight for the beach we decided to break the norm and check out Smoo cave and then Cocoa Mountain so Buttons could get his latte fix. Apparently, it’s the best latte he’s had so well worth the 300 plus miles and 7 hour drive it takes to get there.
The afternoon was spent on one of the most picturesque beaches I’ve seen, Ceannabeinne beach; green sea, high waves, beautiful sand and overlooked by the magnificent Highlands. The Musician was a bit reluctant when we first arrived to get back in amongst the waves due to the washing cycle she’d been put through a couple of days ago. A few minutes later and she was joining Bob with buoyancy aid surfing, apparently if you threw yourself into the crashing wave it would carry you forward.
Pyro also showed the girls a novel way of rinsing their wet suits with fresh water. Just up for the beach, amounts the rocks, was a natural spring that ran down some smooth rock. Obviously, it screamed out waterslide as the girls hurtled themselves down it.
Before heading back we had to head back to Cocoa Mountain for one of their famous hot chocolates. I must say it was probably the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had and instantly felt the buzz when I’d finished. Bob & the Musician obviously felt the same way as they started to dance, sing and run around the shop.
Unfortunately, they were still buzzing during the car journey home and didn’t stop talking.
