Fading beauty

It's been a busy day, with very little time to think about what to feature in today's blip. I've posted a shot of this rose as a bud, and in full bloom, and now just before its petals fall to the ground. Quite why the pure white blossom has now become speckled with pink I don't know, although I could speculate about it being a biochemical reaction as part of the ageing process. That sounds plausible! Anyway whatever the reason, I think there's still beauty to behold in this dying flower, and fortunately it's not the last rose of summer....it's only the end of July.
