A Stella Sea Eagle

Sunday 14th July.

Happy Bastille Day!!
Yet another cool, overcast start to a day that became very hot and sunny. Today we went to the Bedfordshire county show at Shuttleworth College. Compared to the East Of England show, which is no longer staged, this is really rather small and at £10 an adult very expensive.
Luckily the Birds of Prey centre is included in the price and they gave displays in the show ring. This is a two year old Stella Sea Eagle. Her wings span twelve foot and she weighs 16 pounds- so she still has some growing to do. She is still learning about performing in displays and today this is when she flew off on an adventure behaved like a toddler!! The small airport next door had to close its runway, and I think her handler will have had a very long hot trek to find and capture her again!!
I tried a kangeroo burger today- nice but a bit dry- health and safety dictate no rare or medium rare food- idiots!!
Spoke to Mum who had a quiet quatorze juillet, last year we were all celebrating at her French friend Marie-Madeleine's house!!
Pierrade for Bastille day- we will eat outside again tonight!
Still stealing my internet, and using Blip on my phone when I get 3G to comment on your photos, so I am sorry if I am not very attentive again xx
