I wonder if this works?

I decided a few months ago that I should add an IR remote control to my bag of kit to use on my trip to the US. I bought one but for some reason I put it in my camera bag and forgot about it. I had a meeting in Edinburgh today and the sun was shining I thought it might be good idea to take my camera, just in case. As I was swapping the camera into my laptop bag I found the remote and thought I wonder if this works?
