Chilled to the Bone
Spent the day at work weeding the raised beds, wrestling with nettle and dock roots.
The photo doesn't convey it at all, but it was 0°c with an icy wind that made it feel like -6°c. I thought wearing four layers would have kept me warm, but I was really cold. Occasionally, the sun would come out and it would be a slight respite from the chill, but it wasn't often.
I kept working outside on the basis that if it got colder, I always had weeding to do in the polytunnel. Unfortunately, the polytunnel is in need of some repair so was still quite drafty. I must take some duct tape and do some repairs soon.
Once I got home, it became apparent just how cold I was. The warm of the house really hit me and it didn't take long before I was asleep.
Next time, I think I'll take some extra layers and a warmer hat. Hopefully, it will warm up soon.
