First Sowings

Up stupidly early today for no reason. A damp miserable start made much better by cooked breakfast at the local garden centre. It seems that by asking for 'no beans' severely confuses anyone serving me breakfast and I still end up with the little orange buggers splurged over my plate. Some things may never change!

Still aching from weeding yesterday, and tired from being up so early this morning, I had an couple of hours' nap. Woke to brilliant sunshine which was a turn up for the books.

The wind chill was severe, and I just couldn't bring myself to sit out in the garden, so I brought seeds, compost and modules indoors and sat sowing while watching garden-esque programmes on iPlayer. Nice.

Seeing the first sowings of the year (broad beans and spinach) in my little greenhouse left me with a warm feeling of satisfaction and optimism for the rest of the year.
