Home is Not a Place

I've been trying to get a photo like this for bloody years. I am now a very happy man. Taking my tripod on the train was definitely worth it.

Caught the train at 8.30, sort of. Missed the fast one, but ended up getting a slower one five minutes later and got more sleep done than I would have. Then found a fast train to Brighton on the other end and got to Brighton at the same time I would have got to Lancing. Boom. Train stories always sound more interesting in my head.

Six of us met for a meal to celebrate Ani's 22nd, which was nice and low key so as not to shade the evening's events, and as I was early I went down to the beach to get some pictures. It was grey. Everyone then ended up being late, but Jack arrived after not too long and we had a good catch up.

Headed home well fed for a whistle-stop catch up with Mother and some pets, who seems happy at the moment. Told my tales and heard what's news. Turns out that's quite a lot.

Tonight was Juliet's 21st, which is a big deal considering she's the youngest by a long mile. It would transpire that she can cook like a boss, and the company was great. Much, much wine was had, which lead to much shouting and some rather dirty looks from the sober ones. Great to catch up with everyone. Can't believe I haven't been home since before New Year's.

Doug's getting into his photography too now, so the cameras came out and I finally got a set of pictures with these guys that I'm really happy with. Amazed that I got an actual group photo, and I'm really happy with the result. See more here.
