homage to the horses head...

A Cabeza do Caballo (the horses head), aka the Raimondo Nuñez Ironmongers in Betanzos, Galicia (NW Spain) is one of my favourite shops EVER! It's pretty much as you see it, a corridor jam packed with useful stuff. Its been run by the same family since 1877 and in a country where the economy has gone to pot and in a provincial town full of closed shop fronts, it's a beacon of hope and a testimony that change is not always inevitable...Long may they continue! And if you ever find yourself in Betanzos, you should go there...It's fabulous!
