The Bells did Ring and Burn

It started here!

On August 9th of this year Durham Cathedral opened its doors to photographers and I attended with Steeble (a fellow blipper) it was that night I stood in the Belfry and watched the Campanologists ring the Bells and I was totally blown away by this! So I made some enquiries and tonight was my first attendance as a trainee and what an AWESOME night I had too!

As part of the experience and something I won't do in a hurry I had a wee slight mishap with the rope and seriously burnt my fingers and palms on both hands and the ropes now are laced with skin of my fingers! (Ouch!!) BUT it won't happen next week that's for sure - once bitten twice shy!! After that I was unable to carry on so I sat and watched whilst nursing my fingers and hands. All in all a superb night and loved every moment of it! Guess who will ring the Bells on Christmas Day? - Yep - ME!! :))

The above is image in the grave of Alfred Tucker who was the Bishop of Uganda from 1897 and became Cannon of Durham Cathedral in 1911. The Celtic Cross marks his grave when he passed away in 1914.

The weekend is upon us "Carry on Blipping!"

(Ps. Typing with two fingers is quite difficult when you can touch type! lol)

Thank you for all the great comments, ratings and hearts on yesterday's Crow in Flight....
