Bit Breezy!

We had a superb day today! The Jubilee party was a great success. Neighbours came from all around with sandwiches and cakes adorned with Union Jacks and pictures of wee Betty.

The kids ran around, played games, wrote on the road with coloured chalk and filled their pockets with sweeties. The adults ate, drank, chatted and skipped.

Lots of funny moments, including these:

One of the ladies jumping out of the skipping very quickly proclaiming in a slightly panicked voice..."Ooh, all that jumping is definitely not good for your bladder control, or lack of it as the case may be!"

My middle niece Ella (aged three and a half) saying in a slightly bored voice "Mama, what time is the Queen coming?"

One of the neighbour's cats eyeing up a bird and everyone shouting in unison "PSYCHO!!"....because that's his name.

Anyhoo, the ladies from the Jubilee Committee high-fived and toasted each other at the end of the day. Our complete lack of planning in favour of wine-drinking at Committee meetings really paid off :-)

Hope you've all had a lovely day too!
