Cherry Tree and Hanna House
My home Hanna House is nestled in amongst such beautiful trees and its not that easy to photograph to show the full affect... this is taken from the street looking at the front of the house.
The Hannas were the third owners of the land and built onto a small cottage which was first built by Malcolm McDougall around 1862.
The land was originally owned by Captain John Leith he had bought the rural section of 20 acres around 1857, he erected two small sod buildings and a stockyard and applied for an accommodation house licence in 1858.
He bought more land in 1862 and then got a surveyor in to subdivide his land which is now the village of Leithfield .... my home town.
