The Dangers of Ebay

This is Hal one of our conservation team, examining his colleagues bizzare and slightly ghastly beautiful purchase of a decanter from ebay.

It really is quite remarkable, a glass decanter that plays music with a dip in the middle that contains two dancing clockwork figures... apparently it was a rebound purchase... one bid failed so a random impulse bid secured this little treasure.... and it looked better in the picture.

We all gazed at it with mixed wonder awe and slight disbelief...
