Drinkwaters Farm

The ironically named "Drinkwaters Farm" is one of more than 22 farms that were closed when the moorland was purchased to become the catchment area for the Anglezark reservoirs. The farm was so named because of a spring just beyond these ruins that provides, to this day, a source of sweet, clean drinkable water.

In winter the bare trees add to the general melancholia surrounding the ruins and it is difficult to imagine how anyone ever made a living from these poor moorland farms.
