The Dove

A travelling day - to England for a few days.
Arriving at this stunning building goes a long toward compensating for the shock of getting up at 5.45. It's officially Sondika Bilbao Airport but known locally as La Paloma (the Dove) Designed by Santiago Calatrava it rests so very gracefully just outside the vibrant city of Bilbao.

We thought we could catch up with some missed sleep on the flight but a gaggle of girls chattering in Basque behind us and some heated arguments in French on the other side of the aisle soon put paid to that. Arriving in Manchester to cold grey rain had us plotting a stowaway return trip but the thought of family visits and fish and chips just tipped the balance.
