Logging on the Meadows, Edinburgh

I walked across the Meadows for a meeting in the University today and was amazed by the huge pile of logs from the trees blown down by the storm.

Arthurs Seat from the Meadows is a classic view but I've never seen it from this perspective before.

In some ways, it's a shame to lose so many mature trees but this is a natural process and the opportunity to replant for the future.
