This morning the Engineer and I took our young Grandson on a visit to the Orana Wild Life Park .He was intrigued with this female Tuatara.
Tuatara are reptiles - but they're not lizards. They are only found in New Zealand . Tuatara were around with the dinosaurs.Tuatara is a Maori word meaning "spiny back".
Adults are between 30 and 75 centimetres long, and weigh between 250 and 1,200 grams. Males are larger than females.
