You Mean Everything

I started this journey with the aim of improving my photography and documenting the development of my daughter, Bob Grylls but it became so much more.

For those that follow my journal you will know that we (my family unit) have had a rollercoaster of a year. This may seem surprising but I'm not always outwardly emotional or find it easy discussing my feeling (except when Bob is involved). However, when I start writing I find these emotions/ feeling come out without a second thought and I am sometimes surprised by the honesty in them myself.

A few of my friends have also commented they can't believe I've written so much personal information but from my perspective everyone is anonymous and if you really know me none of this will come as a surprise. I want to leave something behind for my daughter to look back on when she is older and know how much she meant to me. For a while I thought this was going to be sooner rather than later but by writing about my condition and feelings I've been able to sort my head out and started to view the brain tumour as a chronic condition and start living my life again.

A few of you have come on this journey with me, you know who you are, and please know your words helped and gave me strength when I needed it the most. They say behind every good man is a great woman - without the support of my lovely and crazy (mean this with love) wife I probably wouldn't have taking the first steps and certainly would have had gaps in my journal. When I start to lose the mojo she is the one who pushes me (baseball bat in hand) to do better.

I know I've not been commenting as much as I used to but I'm still dropping in to see what's happening to you all and once everything settles down I hope to improve on this.

As always a big thank you to Joe, G and the staff at Blip for making this site such a wonderful community.

Let's see what this year brings, a trip down South for one, we've a wee lady still to see and it's about time I actually met the Brooklyn Lady who has inspired so many of my portraits.

With the exception of the fat bloke in the back I managed 3 days in a row with a beautiful model.
