Sunny morning but cold in shadows. Rain again in afternoon.

L and Z came round to do heavy gardening. Small garden with paving and one bed which had become overfilled and the soil was in poor condition. Task to clear completely, remove half of soil for recycling, spread manure and plant out new perennials. End result looks good but probably too many late season flowering plants need more mid summer colour. First visit this afternoon to new dentist - always a bit tense but think it's going to be ok !

Edinburgh's hotels are always full all year round even now during the financial crisis.
There's much work converting houses in the historic New Town to provide more upmarket visitor beds. This is all that's left of the back of the Osbourne Hotel at the moment. Looking forward to seeing the new version.
