Almost . . .
Larkyn can almost reach the handle on the sliding glass door that leads to our back yard. Almost. I know it is only a matter of time before she'll be able to, and keeping it locked will then hinder her from going outside without me for only a short while longer . . . how quickly they grow! I don't like her to wander around outside without me because of the dogs, and there are also black widow spiders out there sometimes . . . yuk.
We had a really nice day today . . . well, nice excepting the fact that my husband left this morning for a work-related trip. Larkyn couldn't understand why we left the house with Daddy, then didn't return home with him. When we pulled into the garage, she must have said "Dada? Papa? Dada? Papa?" about six times. She alternates the English and French way of saying "Daddy," I guess just in case I don't understand one. :-) After a while, though, she must have just assumed it was a work day, and went on with her day. We went out to dinner with my parents, my brothers and my sister-in-law this evening. So, she had a lot of extra love. After the meal, she walked, hand-in-hand with my dad, all around the parking lot. She seemed to love taking him around in circles, then eventually into the grocery store on the other side of the parking lot. I didn't have my camera with me, because I'm trying to stop taking so many photos each day . . . but, of course, I wanted to kick myself for not having it with me. The evening light on them and seeing them walk together melted my heart. I guess she'll need to walk with Grandpa again sometime so I can capture it!
I know this photo is a bit overexposed, but I still liked it - we'll call it high-key. While I was taking this photo, she kept pointing to the door handle, saying, "out" over and over. After I snapped it, we went outside and she threw the ball for our ball-obsessed dog . . .
Goodness, I'm rambling on and on today, aren't I? Hope you all had a great weekend. Thank you so much for your kind words on yesterday's portrait. You are all too kind. :-)
