Wych Elm, Burnhervie, Aberdeenshire

Live suckers around the base of this tree show this unmistakably to be a Wych Elm, Ulmus glabra, but unlike the young tree I posted here last Friday, this fine old specimen has now sadly succumbed to the onslaught of Dutch Elm Disease.
