A young female larch cone

sometimes when im stressed i take a walk in the college gardens and i find it calms me.
today i had the good fortune of bunping into john our resident horticulture lecturer who seeing me shooting some of the garden flowers, showed me some great stuff that i hadnt spotted.
This is one of the spots john highlighted for me.
As the title says its a young female larch cone and is this colour for a very short time.
